It’s now official, England and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has edged out his teammate Ryan Giggs to take the coveted title of the manliest footballer in the Premier league, with Ashley Cole being named as the least manly in the public vote Leading UK grooming brand The Bluebeards Revenge organised the survey, which saw 26 year old Rooney pick up 20% of the public’s votes.

Ryan Giggs was placed second with 18% of the vote, and Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard and Chelsea and England player Frank Lampard tied for third place with 10%. Other players who made the manly top ten included Joey Barton, Nemanja Vidic and John Terry.

Nick Gibbens, spokesperson for The Bluebeards Revenge, said: “When he’s on the pitch, Wayne is certainly what you would describe as a ‘real man’ and is a deserving winner of the title ‘Premiership’s manliest footballer’.

“He wears his heart on his sleeve, never pulls out of a tackle and always puts his body on the line for his team, qualities that make a man a ‘real man’. Wayne also has the recent addition of a full head of hair, and I’m guessing this could have secured him a few extra votes.”

Chelsea and England left back Ashley Cole was voted least manly Premiership footballer, picking up nearly a quarter (24%) of the public vote.

Spanish forward Fernando Torres, a teammate of Cole at Chelsea, came second in the least “manly” category on 21%. Peter Crouch was third on 14%, former Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri took fourth spot with 11% and Manchester United winger Nani finished fifth on 5%.

The Bluebeards Revenge, dubbed the “world’s manliest grooming brand”, also asked participants who they thought was the manliest Premiership team and the league’s manliest manager.

Stoke City, famous for their physical and no-nonsense approach, topped this list on 23%, with Manchester United second on 16% and Liverpool third on 15%.

Arsenal, renowned for their pretty passing game, were judged to be the ‘least manly’ Premiership side, closely followed by their North London rivals Tottenham.

Chelsea’s rugged boss Andre Billas-Boas took the accolade for manliest Premiership manager, with a whopping 49% of the vote, followed by Martin Jol (7%) in second and Roberto Mancini (6%) in third.

Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger scooped the honour for the least manly Premiership manager.

Trevor Brooking comments on swearing-gate Sir Trevor Brooking, the director of football development for the FA has insisted that there is no way you can compare Kenny Dalglish’s verbal outburst aimed at Arsene Wenger with the Wayne Rooney swearing incident. It was Brooking who called for action to be against Rooney after he swore into the camera during the clash with West Ham.

The camera also captured Liverpool Manager Dalglish apparently making derisory comments towards Arsenal boss Wenger after their match at the Emirates Stadium ended in a 1-1 draw. Brooking however says it shouldn’t be discussed in the same way as the Rooney tirade.

He said the major difference was that Rooney deliberately went up to the camera and swore at the viewing audience.

There have been calls for action to be taken against Dalglish and while Brooking doesn’t agree with this he says there does need to be rules of clarification introduced so both players and Managers are aware of the consequences their actions could lead too. Brooking says that the first step is getting the LMA and the PFA to sing from the same hymnsheet.

.

He added that players and managers alike were looked on as representatives of the FA and must behave accordingly. Big stars like Rooney are bound to be talked more for their actions than players in the lower leagues and have to be seen to be punished otherwise several cans of worms are jut waiting to be opened.

Wayne Rooney leaving United Rumours abound that Wayne Rooney is not going to be signing with Manchester United.  It has been reported that Rooney, whose contract is up during summer of 2012 has called off negotiations and that it is possible he might be sold in January.  Allegedly, Real Madrid has expressed interest.

Manchester United claims that this is all just speculation and the idea that Rooney would be let go during the transfer window in January is ridiculous.  All of this comes amid reports of a strained relationship between Rooney and Manchester United’s manager.

Manager, Alex Ferguson has left Rooney out of several games, claiming the striker had injured an ankle.  Rooney himself contradicted that statement after a game between England and Montenegro for a Euro qualifier.

Other reports say that Rooney’s ankle was hurt and that Ferguson was simply attempting to protect him.

Rooney was again not in the starting line-up for Manchester United in a game versus West Brom.  Ferguson did bring him on with twenty minutes remaining after Manchester United had dropped a lead of two goals.  The game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Ferguson has not commented on any of the speculation about Rooney’s play or personal life.  Real Madrid has commented that they have no idea who they would move out were they to add another striker to the team.  Still, they have not come out directly and said they have no interest in Rooney.

Truth be told, Rooney is an excellent footballer and if he is suffering some slump, he is bound to emerge from it.

Is Colleen Rooney pregnant again? Since footballer Wayne Rooney was caught cheating on his wife Colleen with an expensive prostitute while she (Colleen) was pregnant with their son Kai, the marriage has been in some doubt.

The latest word is that the two are going to ‘work things out’ after Rooney apologized and swore he would never make that mistake again, but new speculations have arisen after Colleen was spotted in Manchester airport carrying a little extra baggage up front.

The WAG was returning from a trip to Lourdes, where she left a prayer for her adopted sister Rosie, a 12-year old who has suffered a stroke.  Watchers at the airport noted that Colleen looked as if she had either been overindulging in comfort food or had another baby on the way.

Reportedly, one of Colleen’s WAG pals suggested that if she is pregnant again, she ought to be wary of Wayne’s avowed remorse – after all, he cheated before in the same situation.

The “affair” that footballer Wayne Rooney has recently been accused of has stirred up the press like no other, it has been widely reported that the player saw a prostitute on many occasions in recent years, including when his wife Colleen was pregnant last year.

Even Rooney’s cousin has updated her Facebook page with a humorous comment on the event, stating her aversion to the fact that Rooney paid for a prostitute while “other footballs have girls begging to have sex with them”.

The prostitute that Rooney has been seeing is called “Premiership Jen”, and even she has spoken out about an incident in which the footballer asked her to come back to his home, saying that paying her to go back to his home when his wife was out would be “taking it a step too far”.

Many people have since sympathized publically for Rooney’s wife, Colleen. Some people have told her to send her husband away, and with her valuable business assets, she could likely handle the situation financially away from her husband.

Embarrassingly, Wayne Rooney was exposed back in 2008 for participating in sexual relations with a prostitute in her late 40s who was dressed in a tight catsuit. Still, the footballer appears to have not much going for him beyond this current situation, with a poor performance in the World Cup, and a reported poor performance in bed. Still, with millions of pounds in tow, it will be interesting to see him make more tabloid appearances in the future.
