It was thought that several over age players were going to be chosen from Manchester United to play football in the Olympic Games that are occurring this summer. However, Sir Alex Ferguson has just made the announcement that the only overage player from the team that can be selected to play in the Olympic Games is Ryan Giggs.

The coach, Stuart Pearce, was potentially going to pick Jonny Evans or Paul Scholes, but this has been made an impossibility because of Sir Alex’s decision. A court ruling in 2008 also made selection of football players for the Olympics rather challenging. This court decision stated that football clubs have no obligation to release their players to play in the Olympic Games and it is a decision that they will have to make by themselves.

Ryan Giggs is not officially been chosen for the tournament, this decision just decides whether you will be allowed to play in the Olympic Games. However, Mr Giggs has stated that if you were asked to play on the Olympic squad, he would accept the invitation.

Each squad in the Olympic Games are allowed to select three players who are over the normal age limit and Mr Giggs falls into this category. The question was whether the Football Association would allow Mr Giggs to play because of his age.

A spokesperson from the Football Association has refused to comment on whether they have received any communications from Manchester United about the issue. It seems as if this means that a legal battle about the issue is not going to take place, especially considering the typically accepting position of Manchester United that young players don’t get involved in Euro 2012. The original court decision was about whether to release players for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Ryan Giggs’ brother splits with his wife as the papers have a field day Rhodri, Ryan Giggs’ brother has split from his wife after it was reported that she had an affair with the star player from Manchester United. Rhodri, 34, has apparently ended the marriage and is devastated over the eight-year reported relationship. He said he was with her this past Saturday but not now.

He said he has had problems with this brother Ryan but this is as low as it gets. He had suspected there may be something between them but he never thought it would be to this extent. It is reported that Natasha and Ryan had a relationship even before Rhodri began dating her.

Natasha is said to have reported the affair because she was upset about his fling with an ex Big Brother housemate that was in the headlines everywhere in the world. She feels that he was cheating on his wife and her, at the same time and all he wanted was sex.

It is also reported that Ryan slept with Natasha the day after two of his children were born a few years apart. Estate agent Natasha on Sunday was photographed at a petrol station before taking a trip abroad with her two children who are quite young. She has insisted that all she has said about the affair is 100% accurate.

Rhodri her husband is said to be really in a bad way and at this time is being helped by friends at the home were he was raising the family. On Sunday evening Rhodri changed his Facebook picture to a quote that read “isn’t it weird how people talk sh** about you, when the only thing they actually know about you is your name.”

MP throws spanner in Ryan Giggs High court situation The injunction banning the press from naming the footballer involved in the latest sex scandal has turned into a complete farce. The player has been outed in Parliament by the MP John Hemmings as being the Man Utd star Ryan Giggs.  He used the protection of Parliament to identify Giggs and this must raise some serious questions about future injunctions and are they actually worth the paper they are written on.

The Internet has brought about extraordinary changes in the way that people communicate and both the Media and the Law need to appreciate this. The courts have tried to suppress information that has been circulating freely on the Internet and the need is there for a complete review of the current protection that an injunction brings. Ryan Giggs seems to have been badly ill-advised as to how to deal with the backlash.

He had an adulterous affair with Imogen Thomas, and while to his credit he has not exploited his family like some other players caught with their pants down, it was a bad move to parade his family around after the game on Sunday. His poor wife and children were pushed into the limelight when Giggs must have known the proverbial was about to hit the fan. This could be classed as a mighty costly own goal by Giggs.
