Ashley Cole, the Chelsea and England defender, has taken to Twitter to vent his anger after doubts were cast over the viability of the statement he gave supporting John Terry over the alleged racial abuse aimed at Anton Ferdinand. In a charming turn of phrase, Cole called the FA a ‘bunch of t—s’ for implying that he could be lying.

His outburst was the response to a report being published that questioned the statement Cole made which supported Terry’s version of event during the hearing of the former captain of England which took place last week. Cole’s tirade took place the day after he had been named in the England squad for the crucial World Cup qualifying matches against San Marino at home, and away in Poland.

It rounds off what has been an exceptionally busy week for Roy Hodgson, the England manager, which included an apology to Rio Ferdinand, the Man Utd defender after discussing his international prospects with a complete stranger on the London Underground. Just when he thought it couldn’t get any worse up pops Cole and his rant, throwing his own participation in the qualifiers into serious doubt.

Terry was cleared back in July at Westminster Magistrates Court of a racially aggravated public order offence, which was partly due to the testimony given by Cole, his team mate at both club and country level. The FA commission has since, however, found discrepancies in the initial statement which Cole gave in an FA interview regarding what he heard Terry say to Ferdinand compared to statements he gave later.

Cole didn’t say the word ‘black’ in the initial interview on the 28th October, but on the 3rd November David Barnard, the Chelsea club secretary, asked for the word to be inserted into Cole’s statement, this suggesting that Cole may have heard Terry use the term after all.

Ashley Cole is ready to share a dressing room with England’s Rio Ferdinand after a statement saying that he believes that they can be pals again. Ferdinand and Cole fell out over Cole’s support of John Terry the Blues skipper.

However, Ferdinand may return for an international run with Cole when England attempts to take the World Cup qualifiers against Poland and San Marino.

Hodgson, the boss of England, has not spoken to Rio since he chose not to take him on the Euro 2012 squad, but now that Terry has decided to drop out of the world of international football he will have to do something.

Hodgson is not excited about the idea to take the Manchester United player back on his team, but Cole wants to make it clear that his strained relationship should not be a factor in the decision.

Cole was on the defence for Terry in a courtroom case against that charged Terry of racially abusing Rio’s brother. Terry was cleared of all of the charges but Ferdinand ended up with a FA fine after re-tweeting a racial comment against Cole.

Consumers are benefiting from a price war that is taking place between JJB Sports and internet retailer SportsDirect.com. The retailers are fighting for consumers by offering significant discounts on the new England shirt.

Cheryl Tweedy or Cole, it may be back on again Ashley Cole, Chelsea footballer and hailed as one of England’s best, now appears to be going for a personal best in another kind of ball game – the one that involves relationships, marriage, cheating, etc.  He married singer and X Factor ex-star Cheryl Tweedy in 2006, and she divorced him in 2010.  Now the word is that he’s determined to win her back.

In 2009, The Sun published an expose of Ashley’s indiscretions with hairdresser Aimee Walton, which led to a dust-up that ended (temporarily) with Ashley buying a £160,000 diamond ring for Cheryl, and  one for himself too, apparently as an indication of solidarity.  However, in February 2010 the media rained on his parade again and published accounts of other equally unsavoury affairs, and by September last year the two were divorced.  The rings were no longer in evidence after that.

Latest sightings and reports have given rise to speculation from a lot of different sources that Cheryl is going to forgive and hopefully forget.  Her sudden removal from the line-up on the U.S. X Factor series left her deep in the doldrums, according to ‘inside sources’.  She was reported to be calling on her ex-hubby for comfort, and he, according to some of the same sources, was happy to provide it.

Ashley has been quoted as saying that he expects to re-establish their former relationship – whether than means marriage has not yet been announced, but both parties have taken to wearing those great big diamonds again.  To add fuel to the embers, recently the two also spent the night together at their old home, and speculation is even more rife, though insiders (and Cheryl’s press relations people) report there was nothing going on but chat.

Comments from fans and other observers range from “ . . .she’s an idiot to believe he’ll change”’ to “ . . .they are such a perfect couple”, with most of the comments from Ashley making it clear that he expects to overcome any doubts Cheryl may be harbouring.  We shall await further developments.

Cheryl Cole ‘autobiography’ does not mention Ashley It seems Cheryl Cole is cutting ex-hubby Ashley Cole completely out of her life, even the history of her life.  It is reported that he gets no acknowledgment whatsoever in her brand new book, “Through My Eyes” which is due for imminent release.

Cole has spoken very little regarding her marriage and her divorce from the footballer.  Now, it is reported that she reveals nothing about him in all of her 253-page book.  It seems amazing that she would go to this extreme, especially given that the singer and X Factor judge’s book is touted as an autobiography.

In the book, Cole says that the past two years have been the best time of her life and goes on in specifics about Derek Hough.  She also talks about Will I. Am and has pictures of herself and the two men included, but nothing about Ashley.

She also fails to mention anything about her recent fight with malaria.  She does talk about leaving the home she and her ex-husband once shared in Surrey and spending time in Los Angeles, where she loves the fact that the sun is always shining.

So the question is if readers will be happy with Cheryl Cole’s rewritten history of her life or if they had been looking forward to information on her and Ashley that they now, apparently, won’t get.
