Today a group of football hooligans were arrested for an after match brawl as part of a new effort to crackdown on violence that is related to football matches.
The investigation that brought the arrests began after a fight started between Brighton & Hove Albion fans and Crystal Palace fans on November 10 following two separate football matches that took place on the same day.
Officers from the Met Investigations Team carried out six arrests during the early morning hours at addresses located in Sussex, Kent, and Surrey. Four of the men between the ages of 21 and 41 were arrested in Sussex and the other two men aged 21 and 28 were arrested in Kent and Surrey.
Later two more men were arrested from the Croydon area making it a total of eight men that were arrested as a result of the football fight.
