Danielle Lineker talks about her Alopecia Alopecia kept footballers wife and model Danielle Lineker from realizing her dream of one day becoming an actress, she recently stated.  When she was sixteen, her hair began falling out and she felt that she might soon die, she said.

The condition initially perplexed doctors and left the young girl believing that she was going to die because people with cancer have their hair fall out.  It was difficult to convince her otherwise, she continues.

She says that eventually, through support from family and friends, she stopped worrying about her hair falling out.  She admitted, however, that she still did stress from the condition, which recurs repeatedly.  Funny, she might tell you, because experts now believe that stress is one of the contributing factors to the condition.

After some time she found ways to adjust her hairstyle to compensate for the loss, which she says mostly happens on top, so she can comb it over like a bald man.  The wind would blow it open as if it were some sort of trap door when she was young and her friends would help her make a joke of it. She says that she gets a patch now and then, but it always comes back.

She also commented that since it is now believed to be stress related, being married to Gary Lineker, former international striker, is really a blessing because he is so calm and relaxed.

In fact, one of her latest efforts is to get back on track with her acting.  To that extent, she has recently completed training with London’s Guildhall School.

David Beckham still biggest celeb in UK Although David Beckham may no longer play England football, he was still named the most powerful celebrity in the UK according to Cebra and Milward Brown celebrity research.  The research group asked 2,000 consumers in the UK, 100 brands, and 100 celebrities to identify the most powerful celebrity and brand partnership in an effort to explore who has the best potential in the marketplace.

Beckham moved up two spots to take over the number one ranking beating out Kylie Minogue from her former top position which she held tight since the monthly research was started.

Media Development Director for Milward Brown Europe, Mark Husak, stated that even though Beckham now lives in the USA he is an ambassador for football and England which has kept him firmly affixed in the hearts of Brit’s.  Husak added that even though Beckham was not a part of the World Cup this past year, he was still a powerful liaison between the players and management.

Beckham shun brilliantly through all of the measures of power of a celebrity including as a positive role model, likeability, buzz, and familiarity.  Husak noted that his sensible and outgoing calm persona combed with his great refined image helped to break down many male stereotypes about grooming and sophistication which would make him a great potential match for brands such as Starbucks, Nivea, and Avon.

Sitting below Beckham on the chart was Ant & Dec followed by Kylie Minogue in third, Will Smith in fourth, and Lewis Hamilton in fifth place.   The only wag to make the list was Cheryl Cole in eighth place.

Wayne Rooney leaving United Rumours abound that Wayne Rooney is not going to be signing with Manchester United.  It has been reported that Rooney, whose contract is up during summer of 2012 has called off negotiations and that it is possible he might be sold in January.  Allegedly, Real Madrid has expressed interest.

Manchester United claims that this is all just speculation and the idea that Rooney would be let go during the transfer window in January is ridiculous.  All of this comes amid reports of a strained relationship between Rooney and Manchester United’s manager.

Manager, Alex Ferguson has left Rooney out of several games, claiming the striker had injured an ankle.  Rooney himself contradicted that statement after a game between England and Montenegro for a Euro qualifier.

Other reports say that Rooney’s ankle was hurt and that Ferguson was simply attempting to protect him.

Rooney was again not in the starting line-up for Manchester United in a game versus West Brom.  Ferguson did bring him on with twenty minutes remaining after Manchester United had dropped a lead of two goals.  The game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Ferguson has not commented on any of the speculation about Rooney’s play or personal life.  Real Madrid has commented that they have no idea who they would move out were they to add another striker to the team.  Still, they have not come out directly and said they have no interest in Rooney.

Truth be told, Rooney is an excellent footballer and if he is suffering some slump, he is bound to emerge from it.

Football hooligans set to return to the terraces According to police sources, we may be on our way to the next brood of football hooligans.  Although official football statistics have yet to be released, it is reported that there were over 100 incidents last season.  That is a steep increase from the nearly 40 incidents reported in 2007.

There is no doubt that football hooliganism is on the rise, but a majority of that intensity is being seen in the lower leagues.  This is where tickets are less likely and there is not as concentrated a police presence which, apparently, offers some the opportunity to brawl.

The police say that statistics seem to indicate a worrisome increase of younger fans getting into the violence.  As it stands right now, nearly 300 teenagers in the UK are banned from attending football matches.  The figures reportedly show that nearly half of all football incidents in Wales, Northern Ireland, and England involved youths.

The police believe that one of the most effective tools they have against an upsurge of football hooligans is the banning provision.  While under ban, reported hooligans cannot go anywhere near football grounds and may even been restricted from the city or town centre on the days of matches.

More figures show that there are over 3000 of these footballs bans in place all over the UK in an effort to avert violence.  That means that about ten per cent of that number are teenagers. It has been questioned whether the violence has been caused by an increase in illegal alcohol intake. These statistics are difficult to quantify though as the ways the teenagers obtain the alcohol is mixed. All UK supermarkets are very harsh on ID presence in the purchase of wine, spirits and beer. The same goes for purchasing beer and wine online. Police assume however that a large percentage of the violence is fueled by alcohol.

Saturday saw trouble after the match between Southampton and Bournemouth.  There was quarrelling between people outside the football grounds and city centre.   One policeman commented how lovely Southampton is and that the people there don’t care to see the influence of hooligans.

Liverpool Football Club ownership battle goes on The ownership troubles of the Liverpool Football Club have taken another twist as Peter Lim is stepping back into negotiations with an increased bid for the embattled team.  The billionaire Singapore businessman’s offer was originally overlooked in favour of a £300 million offer from the owners of the American baseball team the Boston Red Sox, NE Sports Ventures.  Now, Lim is back with a new offer.

The new offer may be of no avail since one of Liverpool’s major creditors, Royal Bank of Scotland, has gone to High Court to fight over who has the right to actually sell the Football Club.  IF RBS wins, the deal will go to the New England investors of Sports Ventures.

Lim, however, is countering with quite a deal.  First he will jump the offer to £320 million, all in cash.  Then, he will add £40 million for spending on players.  Such sums of money would pay off a £200 million acquisition debt, bank fees, and all of Liverpool’s existing debt.

The additional £40 million would be injected into the club so Roy Hodgson can get new players.  Lim says that he is committed to returning the Liverpool Football Club to the pinnacle of success.  He says that all the money is available immediately and that fact can keep the club from going under administration.

While his offer is generous and intriguing, it will probably have no bearing on the court case which is a fight between the club and investors George Gillett and Tom Hicks, who stand to lose £114 million if the Sports Ventures deal goes through.
